What is Pressure Washing?

Pressure washing, also known as power washing, is the use of high-pressure water spray to remove dirt, grime, mold, mildew, and other contaminants from surfaces. This cleaning method utilizes specially designed equipment that generates a powerful stream of water, which can be adjusted to different pressures depending on the surface and the level of cleaning required.

Residential

In residential settings, pressure washing is commonly used to maintain and enhance the appearance of homes and properties.

  • House Exteriors: Cleaning siding, brick, stucco, and other exterior surfaces to remove dirt, mold, and mildew.

  • Driveways and Walkways: Removing oil stains, dirt, and debris from concrete, asphalt, and stone surfaces.

  • Decks and Patios: Cleaning wood, composite, and stone surfaces to remove grime, moss, and algae.

  • Fences: Restoring the appearance of wood, vinyl, and metal fences by removing dirt and mildew.

Commercial

In commercial settings, pressure washing plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and professional appearance for businesses. Key uses include:

  • Building Facades: Cleaning storefronts, office buildings, and industrial facilities to remove pollutants, dirt, and graffiti.

  • Parking Lots and Garages: Removing oil stains, dirt, and debris from parking areas to ensure a clean and safe environment.

  • Sidewalks and Entryways: Ensuring clean and welcoming pathways for customers and employees.

  • Outdoor Furniture and Equipment: Cleaning benches, tables, and other outdoor fixtures in public areas and commercial properties.

  • Industrial Equipment: Removing grime, grease, and other buildup from machinery and equipment to maintain efficiency and safety.

What is Soft Washing

Soft washing is a cleaning method that utilizes low pressure and specialized solutions to safely remove mildew, bacteria, algae, and other organic stains from a variety of surfaces. Unlike power washing, which relies on high-pressure water to blast away dirt and grime, soft washing employs a gentler approach to protect the integrity of delicate surfaces while effectively cleaning them.

Soft Washing Uses

Soft washing is versatile and can be used on many exterior surfaces of a property. Here are some common applications:

Roof Cleaning: A homeowner notices black streaks and green patches on their shingle roof. They opt for soft washing, which safely removes the stains and growths without dislodging or damaging the shingles. The roof looks brand new, and the cleaning helps extend its life.

  • Shingle Roofs: Soft washing is particularly effective for cleaning shingle roofs. The low-pressure method prevents damage to the shingles while removing moss, algae, and lichen that can deteriorate the roof material.

  • Tile Roofs: This method can also be used on tile roofs, ensuring that the tiles remain intact and free from cracks that high-pressure washing might cause.

House Siding: A house with vinyl siding has developed mold and mildew due to damp weather. Instead of using high-pressure washing, which could strip the paint or damage the siding, the homeowner chooses soft washing. The result is a clean, mold-free exterior that maintains its structural integrity.
